Hector Montalvo, Managing Director of Source Marketing Direct comments on the highlights – an incredible speech by guest speaker James Caan (best known from TV show Dragon’s Den) as well as Source Marketing Direct’s success in the Awards.

Source Marketing Direct attend biannual entrepreneur’s event in London with Direct Marketing and Sales Industry leaders. The event was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The industry event had over 3000 people in attendance from the UK & Ireland, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, and The United States. It is undoubtedly one of the largest Direct Marketing and Sales events in the world. Source Marketing Direct, London based firm, attended for the 3rd time in a row with managing director Hector Montalvo commenting “Every year it gets bigger and better. The venue was a statement in itself, I couldn’t believe the amount of people there, even just compared to the last event in 2010. I guess this is a true representation of the growth our industry continues to enjoy. There were subsequently more awards and recognition for those who have differentiated their businesses performance in one way or another, and James Caan was of course the ultimate highlight.”

The event was centred on the spirit of Entrepreneurship; outsourced Sales and Marketing is an industry where start up businesses have increased drastically in the last four years, especially in the UK as Source Marketing Direct have proved. James Caan spoke about the challenges he faced when starting his own business ventures, and the beliefs, skills and testaments he developed in learning to overcome those challenges. Hector Montalvo of Source Marketing Direct said “Caan’s opening mantra about ‘observing the masses and doing the opposite’ is very true of entrepreneurial thought. I do not believe that success in life is random; I believe that successful people do something differently to the unsuccessful ones. The definition of success is different to everyone of course. For me it changes each year. My first year in business with Source Marketing Direct was just about covering my costs and not losing money. I considered that a success. Now I define it differently. James Caan was an inspiration to listen too”

Hector Montalvo of Source Marketing Direct was nominated for wins in multiple award categories and proudly accepted the Presidents Club Award for the third time running. The award is based on profitability and is elite to businesses in the Industry with over a £1.5million per annum turnover.
